The JLR Challenge 2023 was nestled in the heart of the Cambrian mountains of mid-Wales and saw 80 teams of 6 employees go head-to-head during an 11 hour race against the clock to gather the most points as possible. Points were acquired by completing a multitude of activities/puzzles and reaching checkpoints, all whilst carrying the required equipment. Team spirit, endurance and strategy was essential to compete in this event. In previous races we have seen our team cover 50km over the mountains within the 11 hours, with our personal best being a 3rd place finish…
This year we were crowned JLR Challenge Champions! An amazing effort from my awesome team, who showed unbelievable drive and resilience! 52km covered and some superb activities gained us a total of 906 points on the day! The atmosphere was exceptional, with a real sense of comradery between teams. Everyone’s high spirits and support really helped us to block out the pain!
As part of the challenge this year, we decided to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young – a charity that means a lot to me, having lost my friend and teammate Matthew at a young age. This year I am delighted to say that we raised £590 for the cause!
A massive thank you to my amazing team: Alex Mann, Marina Lobato, Joan Abdenebi, Angus Wilson & Gwyn Jones.
We feel confident that the money raised will help to make a difference and wish all the other fund raisers the best of luck in any challenges they choose to take on for the benefit of C.R.Y!
All the best!
