74 people were screened on 28th of February 2022 at Software of Excellence Medcare in Kent. This screening was memory of James Pilford
This memorial fund has been set up by the family to help CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) raise awareness of young sudden cardiac death, support those affected, support CRY’s screening programme and fund research and pathology.
James, my first born, amazing son and brother to Hollie, friend to so many.
James was taken so suddenly and tragically on 10th December 2018 – a seemingly fit healthy 27 year old. He was bright, funny, intelligent, with a social conscience and huge loyalty and love for family and friends close to him. He was an incredibly private person who didn’t suffer fools or follow the crowds and always put the needs of others before his own.
Never one for playing sport he found skiing in his last few years and whilst nobody would say he was going to win a place on the Olympic ski team, he loved it, but more so he loved the time with his friends. He also loved watching his rugby and supporting England in their international games.
James had a huge future ahead of him, finding a career he loved and thrived in. His work, together with those close to him, brought out the very best in him and allowed him to grow into the incredible young man he became.
He will be missed enormously by so many people and has left a huge hole in our lives but we hope that by supporting CRY we will be able to support research into cardiac conditions which rob families of their sons and daughters and loved ones bringing such pain and grief. It would make James proud to know that he had helped save others and further vital research into sudden cardiac death. Please give generously in love and memory of James.
