THE memory of a much-loved boy is living on with events that hope to help save young lives.

Jasper Cook, from Birkenshaw, was just eight years old when he tragically passed away suddenly in 2022.

An inquest concluded Jasper, a Birkenshaw Primary School pupil, died from natural causes – but what prompted his death could not be determined.

His loved ones, including his parents Kim and Ian, have since been fundraising to hold cardiac screening events for people aged between 14 and 35. They are doing this through the Cardiac Risk in the Young charity.

Two screening events will take place at Birkenshaw Primary School in July, on what would have been Jasper’s graduation from the school.
