Liv Gow - Our Story
My Husband Neil & myself Jo (mum) and Daughter Sophia (Sister) lives changed drastically on 12th June 2024.
Olivia, our much-loved daughter Granddaughter, Sister, niece, cousin & beloved friend, died in her bed at home from an unexpected Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
Olivia was a healthy, young 19-year-old woman who was incredibly happy and thriving during her time at Wirral Grammar School for Girls, a place that nurtured her ambitions and talents went on to study Veterinary Medicine at University of Nottingham where she embraced independent and academic life.
Olivia was not only an exceptional student but also a compassionate soul who touched the lives of everyone she met.
Her intelligence and dedication to her studies were evident in her pursuit of a career in veterinary medicine, she had a natural affinity for animals, always showing them the utmost care and respect. Her dream was to heal and help those who could not speak for themselves, and she was well on her way to making a significant impact in the field.
OLIVIA was also a vibrant and loving individual, her laughter was contagious, and her kindness knew no bounds. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and loved. Her creativity shone through in everything she did, from her studies to her hobbies, and she approached life with an enthusiasm that was truly remarkable.
Though her time with us was far too short, Olivia’s legacy of compassion, intelligence, and love will live on in our hearts. We will forever cherish the memories of her bright smile, her gentle spirit, and her unwavering dedication to her dreams.
A light has gone out, without so much as a flicker, but what remains is the precious memory of how brightly it shone and the warmth it gave.
Thank you for helping us keep Olivia’s spirit and ‘legacy of compassion’ alive and for supporting this important cause.
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. Research initiatives and supporting bereaved families.
By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
You can Shed Tears
You can shed tears that she is gone Or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back Or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her Or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she’s gone Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what she’d want: smile: open your eyes, love and go on.
