Sebastian and his Nana, Millie shared a close bond that encompassed a love of art. From an early age, Sebastian would go off sketching with Millie; the first photo here was taken on a rainy day in Wales, when rather than leave a picture unfinished, Seb decided to hold a large umbrella over Millie whilst she finished her sketch. It was largely due to Millie’s tutoring that he secured an Art Scholarship at Warminster School at the age of 11. Here, in addition to his art, he excelled in Maths, Sciences and practical engineering.
The loss of Sebastian in April 2020 hit Millie very hard – and she stopped painting. She found it difficult to come to terms with how her strong and talented grandson could be taken so suddenly and with no explanation. Shortly after we discovered that her cancer had returned and her health deteriorated rapidly. She passed away peacefully in March this year. We thought it appropriate to offer some of her paintings to her close friends in return for donations to CRY. This has raised the sum of £320 so far and the money is still coming in.
Further donations in memory of Sebastian and Millie can be made through this website.
