I was presented a cheque for £2,000 tonight (6th October) as my share of the money raised from Music in the Gardens in Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens over 4 nights from Thursday 17th July to Sunday 20th July. Eight charities received money – two per night.
CRY was on the Thursday night when The Glen Miller Orchestra (UK) played. I also collected £480 in a bucket collection on the night. It was a super night and I made lots of contacts. Indeed my contact with Sheffield United came on that night and they have agreed to have a screening at the ground. Part of the deal was that we sold programmes at the beginning of the evening and then did our bucket collection in the interval and at the end. We also had a picnic and opened one or two bottles of wine.
The money will go towards the screening I have booked for Sunday 12th July 2015 in Dronfield. I’ve also booked one at Chesterfield Football Ground the day before on Saturday 11th July.

Music In The Gardens is a charity fundraising event held over four summer evenings in Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens. Each night sees a mixture of local and national talent take to the stage to deliver an unforgettable series of summer picnic concerts.
Music in the Gardens began life back in 2005 as a small project run by the Rotary Clubs of Sheffield to host a live music concert in the Botanical Gardens, with the aim of raising funds for local charities.
Each year benefitting charities are carefully selected, all proceeds are divided between them and a number of other charities nominated by individual local Rotary Clubs.
