FARMERS are mounting a New Year’s Eve tractor run to help save young lives.
The charity event follows the tragic death of Mia Jennings, 19, from cardiac arrest.
The teenager’s sudden death, almost a year ago, left her family and friends devastated.
A memorial fund has been set up by her family to raise funds for the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
All the donations will be used to support a screening programme and fund research.
Northwich dad Kevin Woodward, 38, who is organising the tractor run, said: “We want to do all we can to raise awareness and try and save the lives of young people.
“Young farmers do strenuous work and long hours and often don’t have time to get their health checked.
“We’ve had a fantastic response. So far, 25 tractors have signed up and lots more say they will turn up on the day.”
