9th October 2011
Congratulations and thank you to the 21 runners who took part in this picturesque event to raise funds for CRY. Despite a wet start to the day, the weather brightened considerably for the event, so that the beautiful autumn colours could be fully appreciated.
CRY had a stand at the event just behind the Nokia marquee, in a picturesque spot facing the Serpentine. The stand was manned by staff member Ben Robinson and volunteer Jennifer Ulliot who greeted the runners before the event, and were joined by Rebecca Zouvani whilst the run was in progress.
We had 21 runners in the CRY team this year, including a team of 14 runners from CRY’s corporate supporters Calor Gas
Hannah Brown (running in memory of Scott Rennie), Peter Butler (running in memory of Scott Rennie), Mat Goldhawk, Dawn Hunt (running in memory of Ralph Murwill), Lucy McAlister (running in memory of Alice Lyte), Mary Tucker, Richard Vaughan
Calor Team – Ray Brookes, Sue Brookes, Adrian Gunn, Paul Hardwick, Danny Hudson, Matt Lightburn, Paul Madge, Sarah Madge, Antony Neale, Caroline Neale, Stephen Rennie, David Rowntree, Eleanor Stevens, Loes Visser and Sammy Hayward (running in memory of Scott Rennie). The Calor team have pledged to raise £20k from this event
The first CRY runner to cross the finish line was Danny Hudson, a Calor Gas runner, who finished in a record 1 Hour, 38 mins and 45 seconds
We were delighted to meet a total of 16 runners and their supporters before and after the race. If any of our runners have additional photos, particularly action shots, please do send them to [email protected]
Next year’s Royal Parks Half marathon will take place on the 7th of October. If you would like to take part in an event like this for CRY, please see our upcoming events list or email [email protected].
