On a wet Sunday morning, five employees from Preston Crown Court, including myself, set off into unknown territory. After little training, but lots of spirit, we began a 5km run through the streets of Preston – hoping more than expecting that we would complete the course.
We committed ourselves to entering the race two months previously, when a colleague at work told us about a family friend who had died of a sudden cardiac arrest in a nightclub. His name is Andrew Parr, he was in his early twenties and he didn’t drink or smoke, and it was him that this run was in memory of.
Well, we all finished the race in good time and we have managed to raise over £400 for the charity. It is now just a matter of collecting it all which is proving more exhausting than the actual race!
