I was invited to talk about C-R-Y to the Soroptomist International SW and Channel Islands regional meeting in Cheddon Fitzpaine, near Taunton on Saturday the 13th July. About 60 members attended and the delegates all seemed very interested to learn about what happened to our son, Gary, why I became a representative/fundraiser, and the work of CRY. Several delegates spoke to me during lunch, one of whom who had had a young family member who had died many years ago. His cause of death remains unknown. Others seemed genuinely interested to learn about screening and why we dont routinely screen young people in this country. I was congratulated on being able to talk about our sons death, when his 9th anniversary was on the 12 July, just a day before the meeting. Leaflets were given and the website details provided. I am very proud to be able to raise awareness in this way.
