We completed the South Coast Challenge last weekend (27th-28th August 2016) in memory of Isabelle Tudisca. I walked with Isabelle’s parents Leo and Della, my daughter Katie Mills and Issy’s cousin Andrea Mena.
Day 1 (Saturday) started in Eastbourne on a beautiful sunny morning. Straight up Beachy Head and over the Seven Sisters we headed inland. The hot weather tested us and other walkers to the limit and we eventually finished the day in Hove at 11pm.
We started Day 2 on two hours sleep and took on the remainder of the challenge nursing various ailments ranging from blisters to injured knees. We completed on Sunday afternoon cheered on by our families, before retiring to the hotel for a well earned shower and celebratory drinks. We all agreed it was the hardest thing physically we’d ever undertaken.
Thanks to CRY for all the support along the way. Collectively we raised close to £7,500.00 for the charity.
