On 12th September 2004, the bi-annual SRC Ben Thorn Cycleothon took place. The sponsored cycle ride began at 7.30am, after which there was a party and BBQ, from 1pm which carried on into the evening.
SRC is Dave Parker’s recycling company. Dave and Alison Parker are friends of the Thorns, and knew Ben. Every two years, Dave and Alison organise a charity bike ride in his memory.
The previous SRC Ben Thorn Cycleothon in 2002, attracted more than 80 riders, and raised over £4,500 for CRY.
