Stoke City legend Ricardo Fuller is pulling on his whites for a charity cricket match at Barlaston this weekend.
The Jamaican striker, big mates with Chris Gayle, is hoping to show his skills with bat and ball when he teams up with former Stoke captain Clive Clarke, ex-defenders Carl Dickinson and Ryan Shotton and boxer Nathan Heaney on Sunday.
They will help make up the CRY Invitation XI to take on the Barlaston Select team in a Twenty20 match at an event in honour of Edd Ridgway. Edd, a talented young boxer, was only 23 when he died suddenly in 2016. Cardiac Risk in the Young will screen a hundred young adults at the event too, which will run from 10am until 10pm.
The game will start at midday, a DJ will perform between 4pm and 6pm and there will be live bands on stage between 7pm and 9.30pm.
The Big Screening 2022 will also feature a real ale tent, gin and cocktail bars, a South African barbecue, an ice cream van and a fish and chip van, face painting, a bouncy castle, donkey rides, a car wash and a scooter rally.
An entry wristband costs £2, with children under 10 admitted for free. Any donations will be utilised by CRY to enhance their research programme, while supporting families following the sudden loss of a young person.
