While we were in London for the weekend, in order to undertake the CRY Heart of London Bridges Walk, our wonderful neighbours were raising money for our beloved Lizzie’s memorial fund.
We are very fortunate to live within such a kind and supportive community. When we explained to our neighbours the reason we were unable to attend the street party this year they took it upon themselves to hold a raffle to support our fundraising. The challenge of acquiring raffle prizes was undertaken with relish and with great results as was the sale of raffle tickets. A total of £501.40 was raised by the raffle.
In addition, one of our lovely neighbours decided to hold a sale of costume jewellery that she had inherited from her mother on the day of the street party. She, along with her husband and son, raised the impressive amount of £135.20. The grand total raised by our dear neighbours was £636.60.
We are so grateful to everyone involved. this includes the organisers of the street party, the organisers of the raffle, our neighbours who very kindly sold their costume jewellery, everyone who bought tickets and jewellery and our neighbours who also sponsored us for the Heart of London Bridges Walk.
More importantly we were very moved to see that Lizzie’s life was celebrated at the street party.
