Thank you and congratulations to the 21 CRY runners who took part in the Vitality London 10,000 on Monday 29th May 2017, including CRY Patron Bill Neely who completed the course in 40 minutes and 50 seconds!
The weather was very humid but the buzzing atmosphere in Green Park seemed to give the CRY team the push they needed to complete the Vitality London 10,000!
By around 10am, Green Park had emptied as the runners descended through the park to the Start Point. The 10k route took in parts of the City of London and Westminster before ending by Buckingham Palace. Not long afterwards, Green Park was, once again, filled with runners and their very proud supporters, celebrating their wonderful achievement in the sun.
CRY staff, Rosie Peploe and Nicola Taylor were there on the day to meet the 11 runners who came back to the CRY meeting point, giving them a warm welcome, refreshments and their CRY medals. CRY runner Barry Holcombe was the first back to the meeting point with an excellent finish time of 42 minutes and 33 seconds.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the day and, once again, it was lovely to see so many groups of family and friends, united in support of their runners.
The runners in the CRY team were: Teddy Bevan (running in memory of Anthony Fitzgerald); Jenny & James Boag (running in memory of Barry Nivett); Jodie Bradley, Caroline Ford, Kate Heckman & Megan Walker (all running in memory of Neil Heckman); Barry Holcombe (running in memory of Andrew Holcombe); Claire James (running in memory of Jenny Kerwood); Jo Juson & Team (running in memory of Harry Dubois); Mark Lennox; Chris Logan & Michael Rogers; (running in memory of Liam Charlton Meadows); Bill Neely (running in memory of Katrina Brown); Kier Roger (running in memory of Sian Roger); Josef Saxon (running in memory of James Murgatroyd); Michaela Stratford (running in memory of Richard Merriman).
